Meta Connect 2024
2024
Meta Connect, Meta’s annual developer’s conference, sets the stage and expectations for Meta’s year and celebrates the achievements of the current development cycle. We had the opportunity to create Meta Connect’s visual identity system for the third year in a row — this time focusing on returning to Meta’s developer roots and highlighting open processes and expansive products.
For the 2024 event, we wanted to show how the world expands beyond the ordinary with Meta’s mixed reality wearables and AI generative products. Alongside this, we planned to emphasize the use of AI as a tool rather than a replacement — showing it as a way to supercharge ideation, iteration, and problem-solving while leaving creativity to the user.
We worked closely with Meta to develop the communication and visual approach. We knew we wanted to focus on the core narrative of Expansion and Process. Through an extensive iteration process, we landed on the idea of expanding primitive shapes into fantastic supernatural sculptures to communicate how Meta’s products expand your world.

The visual identity was heavily inspired by the Meta tools that enable developers to build fantastic worlds. Our challenge was to use existing elements and themes in an abstract visual space.
One of our core challenges was showing expansion through user agency. We wanted to signal that change is facilitated by the tools Meta provides for developers. To visualize development without being specific to any one process, we created a transformative bounding box that exemplified the tool transforming ordinary objects into extraordinary ones.
Meta Connect is part events package, part strategic brand top-line development. It’s not just about creating a cool event, but positioning the company in the minds of developers and consumers for the upcoming year.
After several years of creating visual identities for the event, we’ve developed a close working relationship with Meta that allows us to continue creating experimental visuals that fuse visual metaphor and brand strategy together.
We created a visual system of simple objects being expanded into fantastic augmented reality sculptures, communicating the endless possibilities of Meta developer tools.
