Clif Bar Family Foundation Seed Matters

Today, most seeds that grow our food are bred by agrochemical giants to be chemically dependent. This is totally F@#KED up. And we wanted to do something about it.
The organic food movement seeks to provide an alternative, sustainable choice to big AG. Instead of bashing companies like Monsanto we wanted to instead make a positive, empowering film that educates people about the choice they have.
To try and shed some light on an alternative method (and by alternative we mean the only method for a good 12,000 yrs) of growing our food, we created Mr. Seed, a foul mouthed, organic seed promoter, with our new friends The Butler Bros and the Clif Bar Family Foundation. He’s equal parts cute and dirty.

We set out to create a fully-realized world all from the perspective of Mr. Seed. It had to feel like a tangible, physical set — right down to the last detail. The fake ad that begins the film was inspired by 50s advertising but through a post-apocalyptic propaganda lens.
The World ↓
IN: Dung smoothies. Potty mouths. Ka-ra-te. Reading the Kama Seedra au naturale.
OUT: GMO Bros. Pop-up windows. Shriveled testicles. Snorting lines of pesticide like Tony Montana.
We also set out to make poop jokes. Lots of poop jokes.
